The off-season, which is typically between November and April, offers lower rates on accommodations. If you’re a fan of winter sports, this would be the ideal time to visit. Lausanne hosts “Lausanne en Lumière” a popular festival with cultural and culinary events each November.

Lausanne experiences a temperate climate. Summers (June-August) are normally warm but not hot, with temperatures around 24 degrees Celsius. Winters (December-February) are cold, with average temperatures hovering around 1 degree Celsius. Spring and Autumn are mild and wet.

For summer, pack lightweight, breathable clothing, a swimsuit, sunglasses, and a sunhat. As showers are common, an umbrella or waterproof jacket would be helpful.
